Lisa Harper posted this a while back and, man, did this hit me because, lately, I’ve become acutely aware of how often I have been impatient with God and have expected Him to move at my pace rather than submitting to His. There have been times that I’ve been disappointed in His timing, and other times I’ve been downright angry that He didn’t see fit to accommodate my preferred timeline (the entitlement struggle is real!).
Submitting to His timing has become easier as I sit with the fact that Jesus took 30 years to prepare for 3 years of ministry, but those 3 years changed eternity for all of humanity. Looking at it through that lens has changed how I participate in my own preparation process and provided me with a much-needed reminder of God’s sovereignty, especially in His timing.
