Speak boldly | Love intentionally | Live authentically

I’m Jenée, a self-professed Jesus-follower, trivia geek, and avid fan of vanilla chai lattes. As I mentioned in the “Who is The Rescued Rebel?” post, I’m a daughter, sister, friend, proud aunt, cat mom, and unapologetic Cowboys fan. I’m pretty introverted until I get to know people, but that rarely stops me from oversharing. I’m indoors-y and enjoy writing, volunteering, music, and great conversation.
I have an MA in Human Services Counseling with a concentration in Marriage & Family. As you’ll see throughout this site, I’m passionate about helping people who are hurting. To better equip me to do that, I’ve also earned Level I & II certifications for trauma counseling from UW-Milwaukee.
I’m also someone with a servant’s heart and a soft spot for kids. I spent nearly 20 years working in nonprofits that provided support services to children and families in mostly under-resourced communities before taking a break from my career after being diagnosed with cancer in 2016. Since then, I’ve been focusing on healing physically and emotionally, and what a ride it’s been!
I’m the founder of Project Connect180, a new nonprofit community resource center created to share the love of Jesus Christ by meeting needs that alleviate and eliminate spiritual, emotional, and physical poverty as described in Scripture. Our vision is to build a community that reflects Christ’s love as we forge relationships that encourage, equip, and empower people to share talents and resources to see that everyone’s needs are met (Acts 2:42-47, 4:34-35).
I’d love to hear about you, so be sure to use those comment sections after each post. Everyone’s story matters, so you never know…someone else may need to hear what you have to say. Let’s get the conversation started!
